Like other Rotalux softboxes, it folds down like an umbrella for fast setup, simple transport and easy storage in the included carrying bag. What continues to make the Elinchrom system distinctive is the ability to work with optional deflectors in gold, silver and translucent finishes. Positioned centrally over the flash tube, they allow you to adjust the softness, contrast and colour character of the light with greater precision.

Exceptionally even light
Like all Elinchrom light shapers, the geometry of the Rotalux softboxes is carefully matched to the light pattern of Elinchrom studio flash heads. The Rotalux Octa 135 cm includes both internal and external diffusers, giving you the flexibility to work with both diffusers, either one individually, or no diffusion at all depending on the look you want to create.
This allows you to move from softer, more wrapping light to a more direct and defined result using the same modifier. Optional accessories such as grids give you even more control over spread and direction.
Rotalux Speedring compatibility (purchased separately)
The Rotalux Speedring is designed to make setup and use straightforward while allowing the softbox to rotate smoothly in position. It is purchased separately and available for multiple flash systems, making it possible to use the Rotalux Octa with a wide range of brands while maintaining the core advantages of the Rotalux design.
Flexible light character
Both the outer and inner diffusers are included as standard. By removing one or both layers, you can quickly change the character of the light and adapt the same softbox to different visual styles and subjects.
Deflector Set
Thanks to Elinchrom’s centred umbrella mount design, Rotalux softboxes can be used with Elinchrom Deflectors. The different materials in the Deflector Set create different light characteristics and can be used together with diffusion fabrics or, when a harder light is needed, without diffusion.
Elinchrom Rotagrid
Adding a Rotagrid gives you more precise control over the beam angle while maintaining the soft quality of the light. It is a useful option for photographers who want to highlight specific parts of the subject while reducing spill onto surrounding areas or less important parts of the frame.
