I strive for two main goals with my lighting, depending on the situation. One, is to make people look their absolute best. I analyze their face so that I may craft my light to make them look their best, every face is different and requires a different approach. My second goal, is in more creative works, where I strive to create a character and make the subject larger than life, something beyond who they are every day. I'll a variety of techniques including gels, flags, grids, or mixing small and large modifiers to give me a painterly look.
Aron uses the Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 500 and the battery-powered Elinchrom THREE, paired with a Rotalux Deep Octa 100 cm softbox and a 59″ Indirect Octa softbox.
“The Elinchrom 100 cm Deep Octa is literally magic. It is so versatile and gives me the perfect blend between soft and sculpting light. I've used it in just about any situation you can imagine, and it travels very well.
My second favourite piece of gear right now is the ElinchromTHREE. It's perfect if I just need one light on location, as it will fit in my camera bag, making travel much easier. It's got enough juice to shoot HSS outdoors, and is also great in the studio as it's highly versatile and it's small and lightweight built makes it easy for booming my light over a set.”
